Pipeline

In addition to ATI-001, the Company is developing a broad and robust pipeline of other cancer product candidates. The dendrimer-based targeted therapeutics technology is designed to operate as a plug-and-play system that is adaptable and readily customized by attaching disease specific targeting vectors and therapeutic or diagnostic imaging agents to the dendrimer using a variety of different linkers selected.

These product candidates take advantage of the knowledge gained from ATI-001 regarding folate as a targeting vector. Some combine folate with other anti-cancer drugs (e.g., taxanes; anthracyclines). Others use alternative targeting vectors to ascribe added or different selectivity to the resulting product candidates.

Additionally, the Company is developing companion diagnostic agents to these therapeutics, e.g., preparing avidimers based on selected targeting vectors and a gadolinium (Gd) chelator to allow MRI imaging of tumors as part of patient staging and to monitor the progress of therapy. By leveraging the commonalities among this matrix of targeting vectors and drugs in this manner, a broad product portfolio will be developed from a relatively small number of components. The foundational learning realized from the later stage candidates allows for a more efficient future drug development initiatives and better management of portfolio risks. Based upon the flexibility of the dendrimer platform and the ease with which its surface can be modified by various targeting vectors, drugs, imaging agents, targeting vectors, the Company expects to file one IND approximately every 18 months.
