Lead Product Candidate

The Company’s initial product candidate, designated ATI-001, is an avidimer formed by the covalent attachment of 4-5 folic acid molecules and 5-6 methotrexate (MTX) molecules to a dendrimer backbone. This particular avidimer is intended to target cancers that over-express the high affinity folate receptor, and kill those tumor cells by virtue of the cytotoxicity of MTX. These include, but are not limited to, ovarian, breast, lung and colon cancers. As published in Cancer Research (Kukowaska-Latallo et al., 65:5317-24, 2005), ATI-001 was significantly more efficacious (as measured in terms of potency in cell-based assays and survival determined in rodents), and had markedly decreased toxicity, when compared to free methotrexate administered at comparable doses.
